Georgia fans erupted with excitement as their beloved team defeated longtime rival Alabama and secured the title of National Champions on January 10, 2022. When I saw Coach Kirby Smart’s phenomenal jump I knew I was going to capture that moment in a painting. Using a blurry screenshot from the TV my original plan was for a very simple painting: just Kirby and the two players in the foreground. Only after I started adding color I decided to add the crowd, so with my paintbrush I sketched them in. I’m glad I did. I think the crowd adds a lot of life to the picture. Through this painting I hope the viewer is able to see and feel the thrill of that historic moment. Go Dawgs!
